What is Yin?

Yin yoga, for me, is the practice in between an active, Hatha-based practice like Dharma Yoga and a completely supported and passive practice like Restorative Yoga. While energetically, a Yin Yoga class is quiet, mindful and static, there is still an element of participation involved as some poses truly require you to breathe, let go, surrender and trust in the process (whereas in a practice like Restorative Yoga, the “letting go” is almost immediate and effortless).

Restorative yoga makes you feel soft, held, cared for.

Yin invites you to feel, lengthen, surrender and become fully present.
